Reports are just coming in that a volcanic erruption has occured near New Emerald City, in the province of Emeraldia. Initial reports say it is a mild erruption, and that there have only been a few fatalities. Some 400 people have been evacuated from a small community near New Emerald City that lies within the path of the volcanoe's lava flow.
The Royal Gov't will be monitoring the event, and will keep you posted. A more detailed story will be published at LNN's webblog later today.

Because of the erruption, the Royal Gov't is declaring a state of emergency in New Emerald City and the surrounding area, and asking citizens to remain calm. Military units stationed in New Emerald City have been called up and are being used to evacuate citiens in the path of the volcanoe, and are being used to set up aid centers.
