All discussion for the National Bank will take place here.
I feel as the leader of Parliament that I need to take the first step and ask, what do we want our form of currency to be??

currently, the currency is the Royal Palm (the Hawaiian theme). I personally am for keeping it.

I like the Royal Palm, but I think since we are a multi-cultural nation we should use something that embraces all cultures. (Luthorans?)

Well (digs out ancient files from which this nation sort of got it's name) In the old game from two years ago, I believe the currency was called the LuthoriaMarks, or something like that. And Marks would work, since that term is generally used by Germany (or was until the advent of the Euro).

I think that going with Marks is a good idea. For while it can be attributed to Germany I have seen/heard of it being used in many different cultures...I think.

I think many 'central' european countries that are culturally related or are geographically close to Germany have used Marks.

I make a motion that we vote to make the "Mark" out national currency.

I have created a poll to vote on the national currency. I now would like to begin discussion on minting policies as well as a gold repository to give the currency backing.

May I ask, will it be just the Mark, or something like Luthoria Marks, with an abbriv. of LM's, or L-Marks. Just calling them Marks sounds a bit generic.
And I would like to state at this time that I believe that the National Bank should be encharge of minting money, as well as the regulation of money.

The motion was for calling the national currency the "Mark".
So isn't that what would be voted on?

At this time, it is Marks, that is what was motioned and seconded, and so it was taken to vote.
I belive that the national bank should handle the regulation of trade, commerce, and business registration. I also belive that minting can be another area of control, with specific and strict guidlines to adhere to.

I think that the guidelines need to be "hammered out" as soon as possible.

Mr. Bishop, Since the Treasury is under my perview, I will allow you to "start" one job early. I would like you to come up with a minting process, how much, when, and present it to the Parliament. Hammering out details I think is something you are good at?

I would like to take this time to point out that the Kingdom of New Hawaii, and therefore Luthoria, was given all Emeraldian assets after it's dissolution. I believe that included the EM20,000 in circulation.

And the Royal Palm, the current currency, was set at a rate of 1RP= EM1

Ummm...well I guess I can be quite good at hammering out details, but where did you get your information?
I will get right on it, but it might be afew days before I have anything ready for review.
